Bitcoin’s price is back above $100,000. Analysts say increased buying by the largest institutional BTC holder has improved sentiment around the coin. On Monday, MicroStrategy said it had spent over $101 million to purchase 1,070 Bitcoin at the end of 2024. The latest acquisition increased the company’s BTC holdings to 447,471.

Metaplanet, on the other hand, is looking to buy more Bitcoin in 2025. The firm’s CEO, Simon Georvich, tweeted on Monday that they planned to expand their Bitcoin treasury to 10,000 coins this year.

It is worth highlighting that buying has also intensified in crypto investment products since the start of 2025. CoinShares’ latest report shows over $580 million in net inflows this year.

While many analysts have expressed optimism in the long term, they’re uncertain about Bitcoin’s price action in the short term. On January 5th, 10x Research CEO Markus Thielen claimed that Bitcoin may drop to $97,000 before the month ends.

Now, let’s analyze the charts to identify which barriers investors/traders need to monitor if Bitcoin and other leading currencies continue rising.

Bitcoin Price Analysis

With BTC above $100,000, it signals that the buyers are regaining control. If they continue building momentum, the chances of a move to $108,326 will improve. That level is likely to attract the sellers. However, if buying pressure is maintained, Bitcoin could head to $125,000 for the first time.

Conversely, if the sellers drag and sustain BTC below $100,000, then the support at the 20-day Exponential Moving Average of $97,305 could crumble, leading to a sharp fall toward the second support at $90,183.

Ethereum Price Analysis

ETH has completed a bullish setup after rallying above the $3,582 resistance late last week. The Relative Strength Index has entered a positive zone, giving the bulls a huge advantage. Increased buying pressure could push Ethereum to $3,891.73 and later to $4,091.44, where selling is likely.

On the other hand, sentiment could turn bearish if ETH falls below $3,582. As such, the 20-day Exponential Moving Average of $3,528 may give way, resulting in a price correction to $3,202.18.

BNB Price Analysis

The buyers have maintained pressure above the 20-day Exponential Moving Average of $704.08, pushing BNB to $730 as of this writing. The current price means the sellers have failed to protect the $722.95 resistance. With the buyers now in charge, the Binance Coin could soon climb to $793.64.

On the downside, if BNB reverses, reaches $704.08, and the buyers show no interest in mounting pressure, then we may see a move to the 50-day Simple Moving Average of $684.89 and eventually to $635.17.

Solana Price Analysis

SOL has failed to stay above the 50-day Simple Moving Average of $219.72, signaling that the sellers are maintaining pressure at higher levels. If the selling continues, the 20-day Exponential Moving Average of $204.98 could become the next stop for Solana. On the contrary, if the buyers thrust and keep SOL above $219.72, a rally to $235.04 and later to $247.19 could happen.

Dogecoin Price Analysis

The hype around Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is building up again. In response, Dogecoin has trended upward, topping $0.3925 at press time. If it continues trading above the 50-day Simple Moving Average of $0.3892, it would mean that the sellers are giving up. In that scenario, a journey to $0.4251 and then to $0.4829 will become a reality.

On the bearish side, Dogecoin risks plunging to the 20-day Exponential Moving Average of $0.3572 or even to the $0.3184 support if the bears win the fight at $0.3892.

Cardano Price Analysis

ADA’s recovery rally has faced resistance at $1.11 in the past few days. However, the Relative Strength Index (62.18) suggests that the token can still rise if enough buying pressure is applied. If this happens, Cardano could grow to $1.22 and then to $1.31, where selling could begin. On the contrary, a move to the 20-day Exponential Moving Average of $0.9832 seems likely if the 50-day Simple Moving Average of $1.0057 is not guarded.
